Collier wanted to give a shout out: "I just wanted to share that my cihs students are doing really well when we do discussions based on readings we have been doing. They are annotating and highlighting the text and are using the notecards for talking during discussions. They are improving a lot with these strategies used in class! I see so much critical thinking and analysis with these discussions." Keep up the good work Collier AND Chicano Studies Students! #WeAreWahluke

The history department has nominated the following students for student of the month for the month of September:
Maria Pablo Sebastian: Mr. Hjelm said, "Maria offers great evidence and detail in her writing and is an awesome leader in group discussions, where she asks great questions and demonstrates an eagerness to learn from the text and her classmates."
Katty Martinez: Ms. Haliburton said, "Katty is a hard worker in class and is always prepared to learn."
Alvaro Rodriguez: Mr. Collier said, "Alvaro's ability to decipher rigorous readings from class is extraordinary and impressive. Alvaro is actively engaged in class discussions with his peers, and he is willing to ask questions outside of class. He is certainly able to handle this rigorous college in the high school course."
Juan Medel De Los Santos: Mr Dugan said, "He is always participating in class, leading discussions and turning in work early."
Jackie Ventura: Mr. Watrous said, "Jacky asks solid, quality, in-depth questions which demonstrates her involvement in our Government/CWP class."
Keep up the great work Wahluke Warriors!
