Inclement Weather Plan for the 2024-2025 School Year

Although it is still fall, WSD would like to share our Inclement Weather Plan in advance. As we approach the winter months, the likelihood of snow and ice increases. In the event of adverse weather conditions, such as snow or ice, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority.

Below are the procedures and expectations for the Wahluke School District regarding inclement weather, school delays, or cancellations. These guidelines are designed to help you understand how weather-related decisions are made and communicated, making the process easier for you.

- Do not rely on the schedule of neighboring districts.
- Always refer to our website and social media accounts for announcements. No News is Good News: If no reports have been made, the school will begin at regularly scheduled times.
- The district does not send students home early because it is snowing.We support parent’s or guardian’s decision to pick their students up early or not to send their students to school. Absences will be considered excused with a signed note.

IF MESSAGE STATE: 
“Wahluke School District will be closed for the day.”
- All students: Pre-K through 12th grade will not have classes.
- All activities at school buildings and trips are canceled.
- All after school activities such as after school Elementary Intervention Clubs and Junior High and High School Clubs are canceled.
- All after school sports games and practices will be canceled unless otherwise instructed by coaches.Administrative offices are open.
"Wahluke School Districts will operate two (2) hours late."
- Classes will start two hours after the regular schedule
- No Pre-School and EACAP Classes
- Students will start classes two hours after the regular schedule Breakfast will be served two hours after the regular schedule
