Mission
The mission of the Wahluke School District libraries is to ensure that students and staff have a space that promotes 21st-century learning skills. The library focuses on providing equitable access to literature both digital and physical and educating students on how to be effective users of ideas and information. The libraries operate to support the overall school curriculum and provide users with updated information needed to learn and function in the classroom and beyond.
Goals
Provide access to information through an organized collection of in-house and remote resources in print and electronic formats that address the diverse interests, backgrounds, and varied ability levels of our students
Fostering reading as a lifelong activity through exposure to printed and digital materials
Develop and implement lessons focusing on information literacy skills that develop student competencies in selecting, retrieving, analyzing, evaluating, synthesizing, creating, and communicating information in various formats.
Work collaboratively with teachers to provide relevant learning experiences that integrate information literacy skills with the classroom and help students achieve district and state academic standards.
