The Wahluke School District is aware of the importance of air quality on our student’s health. Last fall we were able to work with the Department of Ecology to get an air quality reporting station mounted on the high school roof. This gives us very good data to make informed decisions on when to make adjustments to our activity schedules. This website (https://enviwa.ecology.wa.gov/home/map) will show you the monitoring numbers.
In conjunction with the latest guidance by the Department of Health (https://doh.wa.gov/sites/default/files/legacy/Documents/Pubs/334-332.pdf?uid=64e28941dfe67) you will be able to see how we make decisions to cancel or amend activities such as sports and practices.
Today our air quality is in the hazardous range. There will be no outdoor practices today. For August, 21st, 2023.
