Levy update

February 12, 2025

As many of you have probably already seen, our Capital Levy is currently failing by 55 votes.

Current results as of 2/11/25, 8:02 PM | Columbia Basin Article

YES: 147 votes

NO: 202 votes

Difference: 55 votes

The next updates will take place tomorrow (2/13/25) at 5 PM → HERE

At first glance, these numbers look extremely disappointing — especially as hard as many of us have worked over the last year.

But a couple things to consider from the last 4 elections:

  1. The trend has been to pick-up 100+ votes after the initial Election Day count.

  2. The other trend is that these votes have typically been more “yes” votes.

If both of these trends continue, it is a real possibility to overcome these 55 votes. *The low voter turnout seems to be something we weren’t expecting.

What’s Next:

The biggest update to our initial election results should be tomorrow at 5 PM. This will include the bulk of remaining mail-in and drop-off ballots. This should give us a more accurate sense of where we really stand.

After tomorrow, there will likely be 1 or 2 additional counts released before the election is officially certified.

Regardless of the election results, I want you to know that I truly appreciate everyone’s effort this year to continue building relationships with our students, families, and community. Your work has given us a solid foundation to build upon for future connections.

The work you are doing matters so much. Never lose sight of that, and keep doing what you are doing to support our young people.

As always, Go Warriors!

Sincerely,

Andrew Harlow
