Wahluke School District was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education's Green Ribbon Schools Program and was awarded as a 2020 Green Ribbon School Honoree.
Wahluke School District was one out of 5 school districts in Washington State to receive this award. The district was recognized for our ability to reducing our environmental impact and cost, improving students' health and wellness, integrating environmental and sustainability education. Mr. Hubbard WSD's K-12 Science/STEM Specialist and Mr. Hunsaker WSD's Garden & Sustainability Coordinator with the Green Ribbon Schools Honoree Award.
They worked with alongside the district Green Team who is
comprised of 20 people, including staff from teaching and learning, grounds and maintenance, food service, custodial, and transportation, administrators, teachers, specialists, counselors, positive behavioral interventions support specialist, and migrant student advocates.
