As we begin this school year and students, staff, and our community are on campus, the Wahluke Nursing Department would like to share new information from the State Department of Health about COVID-19 health and safety guidelines for schools this fall. Following these safety measures reduces the spread of COVID-19.
Health and safety requirements for this fall:
- Students and staff who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate at home for 5 days. Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or the day of the positive viral test.
- Students and staff can come back to school when asymptomatic. All staff and students are encouraged, but not required to test before returning after the 5 days from first symptom or positive test.
- Masks are not required, but encouraged.
- Employees are required to be vaccinated or have an exemption.
You can reach us at 509-932-4565 for help or more information. We look forward to creating safe and healthy spaces for our students when they return this fall.
