Congratulations, Mr. Mauricio Ramirez! Mr. Ramirez was recognized yesterday for 24 years of service to Wahluke School District. We are grateful for all his work in our transportation department. Today is an Early Release Day and the Last Day of School for the 22-23 school year. Our whole last week of the 2023-2024 school year was filled with a lot of fun activities across our campus, from spirit weeks, field trips, TK, Kinder, and 5th-grade graduations to Color Runs, Fire Truck - water day, to 5th grade House Sorting day we are happy to see our students and teachers making memories! The end of the school year is soon approaching! As a reminder, here are important dates to keep in mind: Monday, June 12th: Is a Regular School Start Day Tuesday, June 13th: Will be Early Release and the Last Day of School _________ Toda nuestra última semana del año escolar 2023-2024 estuvo llena de muchas actividades divertidas en todo nuestro campus, desde excursiones, graduaciones de TK, Kínder y 5.° grado hasta carreras de colores, camión de bomberos - día del agua, día de sorteo de casas de 5to grado, y mas estamos felices de ver a nuestros estudiantes y maestros creando recuerdos! ¡Y se acerca el final del año escolar! The Special Education Department and Garden Sustainability Team have dedicated an apple tree that WHS Student Daniel Cardoso and teacher Christine Lounsbury planted in the garden last year. Ms. Lounsbury shares the story about the dedication: "It started as a dead stick that looked like it should be put in the compost. Danny was willing to take a chance on it, and we planted it anyway. When it took off and started to become a full beautiful tree, Danny agreed that it was in his late father's honor and his dad was looking down from heaven, happy that Danny had the tree. Danny has lovingly cared for his tree every day ever since." WHS student Jose Lagunas created and built a plaque in Dad's honor ____________________ El Departamento de Educación Especial y el Equipo de Sostenibilidad del Jardín han dedicado un arbol de manza que el estudiante de WHS Daniel Cardoso y la maestra Christine Lounsbury plantaron en el jardín el año pasado. Nicolas Puentes, 2019 graduate of Wahluke High School became one of only four CWU students to ever receive the NSF research award and had his heart set on physics research for a long time before he ever took his first class at CWU. Congratulations Nicolas! #Alwaysawarrior

Dear Parents/Guardians Please read the important update regarding the school bus transportation: School Bus Route 12 will be cancelled for the entire day, (morning and after noon). For Monday, May 22, 2023. The cancellation of Route 12 is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and apologize for the short notice. However, we are taking immediate action to mitigate the impact and ensure the safety and well-being of our students. Please make alternative arrangements for transportation on Monday, May 22, 2023, as the school bus assigned to Route 12 will not be operating.

WSD will be hosting a Family Fun Night Event on June 8th from 5:30-7:30 PM at the WHS Football field, highlighting culture and talent in our district and community.  We are asking our community and business to participate by hosting a booth. This can be an activity and or informational booth as well as vendors. We are also seeking talent to participate! It can be dancing, singing, playing an instrument, or any other talent.
